When things go the way we want it to be, we strive harder and try to make things better. When the reality is too hard to face, people tend to step down. But in this saying "When The Going Gets Tough, Only The Tough Gets Going", the more pain and hardship that comes in the way, strong-willed people try to overcome obstacles and trials that will help them step up from what they have already achieved.
